Question asked:

An irish resident and ordinary resident individual for many years who is UK born but also with an Irish Passport is in the process of receiving an inheritance from his father. No UK tax payable as it is below the treshholds in the UK.
Mixture of property, cash and investments – all held in the UK.
I assume he is taxed in full in Ireland on the inheritance over his treshhold.
If he varies the UK will in part in favour of his brother (non resident) and his wife (resident) would the irish tax bill still fall to him or could their treshholds apply? Doesn’t sound quite right to me.
