Question asked:

A question, a client of ours owned a company and the company went into liquidation a couple of years ago. He owned 50% of the company with his business partner. The company ceased trading and had to appoint a liquidator after a member of staff had significantly misappropriated fund. Client at the date of liquidation was owed €40,000 in his Director’s Current Account. He never received this and my question is, is this allowed as a capital loss against future gains going forward. Thanks in advance.
