Hi Alan,
We have a client who in the past has inherited a commercial property from her father to the value of 250,000, she availed of her group A relief, she is Irish domicile but has become non-resident as she is residing in Italy for the past 3 years, she is in line to inherit a property worth 350,000 and cash of 240,000 and we would like to know how this will be dealt with for CAT – she has rental income from the commercial property in Ireland and also has a residential property in Ireland which generates rental Income, will the inheritance be subjected to the Irish CAT rates and rules or will this be taxed by the Italian revenue system?
