Question asked:

I have a client who was selected for revenue audit which started on 4th October 2016. Auditor was onsite for 2 1/2 days and all follow up queries were resolved. There was no further communication from revenue until November 2017 when the auditor phoned me on a Friday night (7.30pm) to say she would be at the clients premises on the following Monday morning to continue the audit where she asked the same questions and looked at the same information as the previous year. She then began to ask about the company my client is a director of. Again all follow up queries were answered immediately. Nothing further again until today when she again asked questions about the company (the audit was originally on my client as an individual). I asked her when the audit had been extended into the company and she said "Oh I was supposed to send a letter ... sorry I will do that this week". Do I have grounds to insist that the audit be finalised ASAP or what should my next step be? Also can they extend from and individual to a company and should I refrain from giving them any company information until we receive a letter to say the company is now under audit? Elizabeth
