Question asked:

I have a client who works as a insurance broker under the PAYE system. who lets his commission build up, and then draws down the salary. As he only did 8 drawdowns in 2018, the employer only allocated him 8 PRSI insurable weeks. The employee is not happy with this as the number of weeks worked is a lot higher than 8 weeks. The employer's position is that the P60 is correct unless the employee sends a note from their own accountant explaining it is not. The nearest example I can find is job sharing where the number of PRSI weeks is based on at least one day worked in a calendar week, not on the number of payments made by the employer. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ronan
