Question asked:

Client is UK domiciled but lived in Ireland since 2008. He has received a UK lump sum pension without deduction of tax from the Royal Mail and is receiving a monthly pension also. Is the lump sum taxable in Ireland in the year it is received, a significant tax liability? If it is a UK Government pension, is it taxable only in the UK where it is paid. Per the Gov.UK website Post Office workers are classed as Non Government. Thanks.
