Date of passing of Acts of Oireachtas

Section 15 establishes how the official date of passing is determined for an Act of the Oireachtas (the Irish parliament) and how that date is formally recorded on the Act itself.

• An Act is officially passed on the date the President signs the Bill.
• The Clerk of Dáil Éireann must endorse the date on the Act immediately after the President signs.
• The date is placed on the Act immediately after the long title.
• Once endorsed, the date of passing is treated as forming part of the Act itself.
