The payment mentioned in Article 4 needs to be cleared during the month in which the amount of the established resources is credited as per Articles 9 and 10 of the regulation.

If the payment is delayed beyond the specified period, interest will be added to the owed amount. This interest continues to accrue from the date the payment window expired until the date the payment is made.

The interest rate is determined by the European Central Bank's interest rate during their most recent refinancing operation before the first day of the half-year in question. This rate is then increased by two percentage points.

In situations where a Member State of the Authorising Customs Authorities is not partaking in the third stage of economic and monetary union, the national central bank sets the equivalent rate. This applicable rate begins on the first day of the half-year and continues for the next six months.
