Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland

Section 108AA provides a stamp duty exemption for instruments transferring property, assets or documentation to the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI) or to its wholly owned subsidiaries.

  • No stamp duty arises on any instrument transferring property to the SBCI.
  • The exemption extends to subsidiaries wholly owned by the SBCI, and to subsidiaries wholly owned by such subsidiaries.
  • The exemption covers sales, transfers, leases and other dispositions of any property, asset or documentation.
  • "Wholly owned" is determined by reference to section 9(1)(d) of the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997.
