Declaration to be made by qualifying fund manager or qualifying savings manager

Paragraph 4A of Schedule 2A sets out the requirements for the written declaration that a qualifying fund manager or qualifying savings manager must provide in order to receive a relevant distribution without deduction of dividend withholding tax.

  • A qualifying fund manager or qualifying savings manager can receive dividends free of DWT by providing a written declaration to the company making the distribution.
  • The declaration must be made and signed by the person beneficially entitled to the distribution, using a Revenue-prescribed form.
  • The declaration must confirm that the dividend income will be applied as income of an approved retirement fund, approved minimum retirement fund, or special savings incentive account.
  • If the fund manager or savings manager ceases to qualify, the declarer must notify the distributing company in writing.
