The Great Book of Ireland Trust

Section 210 exempts from income tax the income of the Great Book of Ireland Trust arising from the sale of the manuscript, and exempts payments made by the trustees to Clashganna Mills Trust Ltd and Poetry Ireland Ltd.

  • The Great Book of Ireland Trust was established by trust deed on 12 December 1990 to create and sell a unique manuscript volume known as The Great Book of Ireland
  • Income arising to the trustees from the sale of The Great Book of Ireland is exempt from income tax
  • Payments made by the trustees to Clashganna Mills Trust Ltd and Poetry Ireland Ltd from the sale proceeds are disregarded for income tax purposes and are not subject to deduction of tax at source
  • The trust was established for the benefit of Clashganna Mills Trust Ltd (incorporated 5 August 1986) and Poetry Ireland Ltd (incorporated 1 March 1991)
