Taxes Consolidation Act 1997 section 848P

Monthly returns

Section 848P required qualifying savings managers to make monthly returns to the Revenue Commissioners in respect of all special savings incentive accounts (SSIAs) under their management.

  • A qualifying savings manager registered under section 848R was required to file a return within 15 days of the end of every month, including nil returns where no activity arose.
  • The return had to specify the aggregate tax credits claimed on subscriptions, the aggregate relevant tax due on gains, and the net amount payable to or by the Revenue Commissioners.
  • Each return had to include a declaration in a form prescribed by the Revenue Commissioners confirming that the information was, to the best of the manager's knowledge and belief, correct.
  • The provision applied in respect of all SSIAs managed by the qualifying savings manager during the relevant month.
