Claims for relief by qualifying investors

Section 508F sets out the requirements for claiming relief under the Employment Investment Incentive, including the need for a statement of qualification from the company and the information that must be included in the claim.

  • An individual who is a qualifying investor cannot claim initial relief until a statement of qualification has been received from the company, or second stage relief until a statement of qualification (second stage relief) has been received.
  • Every claim for relief must include the name and tax reference number of the company in which the qualifying investment was made.
  • The claim must also include the date the qualifying investment was made and the amount of the investment.
  • Where second stage relief applies, the claim must additionally include the date on which the conditions set out in section 508B(4)(a) are satisfied.
