Definitions (Part 6)

Section 100 defines two key terms — "communication" and "electronic system" — that apply throughout the Part of the Act dealing with how information is exchanged between the Authority and other parties.

• A "communication" is broadly defined to cover any message, notification, notice, document, application, or request that must be sent or given under the Act, regardless of its purpose.
• An "electronic system" means a secure digital platform — such as a website portal, web application, or mobile app — maintained by or on behalf of the Authority, which requires personal log-in credentials to access.
• The wide definition of "communication" ensures that all forms of correspondence contemplated by the Act are captured within the rules governing this Part.
• These definitions establish the framework for how the Authority, employers, employees, and other parties may interact and exchange information digitally under the Act.
