Definitions (Part 8)

Section 113 defines the key terms used in the Part of the Act dealing with reviews and appeals of determinations made under the automatic enrolment system.

• An appeals officer is the person defined in the appeals provisions of the Act who hears formal appeals against determinations.
• An applicant is any person who submits a request to have a determination reviewed.
• A relevant determination is the specific decision that is the subject of either a review request or a formal appeal.
• A review request is a formal request for reconsideration of a determination, and a reviewer is the person appointed to carry out that review.
