Membership of Board

Section 11 sets out the composition, appointment process, and membership requirements for the Board of the National Automatic Enrolment Retirement Savings Authority.

• The Board must have between 5 and 8 members, all appointed by the Minister, with one designated as chairperson.
• Members must have relevant knowledge or experience in the Authority's functions, governance, management, financial administration, or financial investment.
• At least one member must have experience relating to employee interests and another must have experience relating to employer interests, with an equitable gender balance sought.
• Board members owe their duties solely to the Authority, and any vacancy must be filled as soon as practicable, with appointments published in Iris Oifigiúil.
