Publication of notice

Section 92 requires the Authority to publish formal notices in newspapers and the official State gazette where it has been unable to contact persons with unclaimed balances in their automatic enrolment retirement savings accounts.

• Where all reasonable steps to notify a person under section 91 have failed, the Authority must publish a notice in at least two daily newspapers circulating in the State and in Iris Oifigiúil (the official State gazette).
• The first notice must be published on 31 October 2041, with subsequent notices published on the first working day in November each year thereafter.
• The notice must warn that if no specified event occurs by 31 March following publication, the unclaimed balance will be transferred to the Dormant Accounts Fund without further notice to the participant or their personal representative.
• The notice must also be published on a website maintained by or on behalf of the Authority and must include prescribed information such as how interested persons can contact the Authority to establish their entitlement.
