Staff of Authority

Section 30 provides for the staffing of the National Automatic Enrolment Retirement Savings Authority, designating its staff as civil servants and setting out the framework for their appointment, terms of service, and the use of temporary and shared resources.

• The Authority may appoint staff with the approval of the Minister and the consent of the Minister for Public Expenditure, subject to public service recruitment legislation, and all staff are civil servants of the State.
• Terms and conditions of service, including grade, are determined by the Authority with ministerial approval and consent, in line with civil service structures.
• The Authority may arrange for persons employed by public bodies or other organisations to be engaged on a temporary basis, under the direction and control of the chief executive during the engagement.
• The Minister may make premises, equipment, services, and other resources available to the Authority, including through agreements with other public bodies, to support the Authority in performing its functions.
