Automatic Enrolment Retirement Savings System Act 2024 section 5

Expenses

Section 5 provides that the Minister's costs in administering the Act are funded from public moneys, subject to approval by the Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform.

  • Any expenses the Minister incurs in administering the Automatic Enrolment Retirement Savings System Act 2024 must be paid from moneys provided by the Oireachtas (i.e. from public funds voted by the DΓ‘il).
  • This funding is not automatic β€” it is subject to sanction (approval) by the Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform.
  • This is a standard provision found in most Acts of the Oireachtas, ensuring that administrative costs have a clear legal basis for public funding.
  • The section does not place any financial obligation on employers, employees or participants in the automatic enrolment system β€” it deals solely with the State's own administrative costs.
