Preparation and submission of supervisory report by Pensions Authority

Section 45 sets out the process for preparing, finalising and submitting the supervisory report, including the Board's right to review a draft before the final report is sent to the Minister and laid before the Oireachtas.

  • The Pensions Authority must send the Board a draft supervisory report by 31 March following the reporting period, accompanied by all supporting material and a written notice giving the Board at least 6 weeks to make submissions.
  • After considering any submissions from the Board, the Authority must revise the draft as it sees fit, finalise the report, and append a copy of any submissions received from the Board.
  • The finalised report must be submitted to the Minister as soon as practicable and no later than 30 June following the reporting period, with a copy also sent to the Board.
  • The Minister must lay the report before both Houses of the Oireachtas as soon as possible and send a copy to the Comptroller and Auditor General within 6 weeks of receiving it.
