Annual plan

Section 38 requires the Authority to prepare and submit an annual plan to the Minister, setting out its objectives, intended outputs, strategy and priorities for the coming financial year.

• The Authority must prepare and submit an annual plan to the Minister at least two months before the start of each financial year, covering its objectives, intended outputs and strategy for achieving them.
• The plan must set out the Authority's priorities for its work and have regard to the current statement of strategy, as well as any other matters the Minister may direct.
• In preparing the plan, the Authority must have regard to the need to ensure the most effective, efficient and economical use of its resources.
• The Authority must provide a copy of the annual plan to any Oireachtas committees that the Minister may direct.
