Authorised officers

Section 121 provides for the appointment of authorised officers by the chief executive of the Authority to carry out compliance functions under the Act.

• The chief executive may, with ministerial consent, appoint authorised officers for the purposes of the Act.
• Each authorised officer must be given a warrant of appointment and must produce it for inspection when requested by any person affected by the exercise of their powers.
• An appointment ceases if revoked by the chief executive, if a fixed-term appointment expires, or if the person ceases to be a member of the Authority's staff.
• Authorised officers are responsible for carrying out the Authority's compliance functions, ensuring that obligations under the automatic enrolment system are being met.
