Expenses of Authority

Section 35 provides for the setting of fees payable to the National Automatic Enrolment Retirement Savings Authority and for the funding of the Authority's expenses.

  • The Minister may prescribe fees payable to the Authority for performing its functions and for meeting the cost of investment management services, with the consent of the Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform.
  • The Minister may also prescribe who pays the fees, when they are due, and any exemptions from payment, with different provisions permitted for different classes of functions or services.
  • When setting fees for the Authority's own functions, the Minister must take account of the expenses the Authority actually incurs, and the chief executive determines the method of payment and the form in which payments are recorded.
  • The Authority's operating expenses are funded from moneys provided by the Oireachtas, to the extent sanctioned by the Minister for Public Expenditure, National Development Plan Delivery and Reform.
