Medical examination

Section 104 requires persons being cared for under the carer's benefit scheme to attend medical examinations, and provides that the carer's benefit may be stopped if the cared-for person fails to comply without good cause.

• Where a carer receives carer's benefit, the person they care for must attend any medical or other examinations required by regulations.
• The examination requirements are determined by regulations made under this section.
• If the cared-for person fails to attend or submit to a required examination without good cause, the carer may be disqualified from receiving the benefit.
• The disqualification applies to the carer's benefit payment, even though it is the cared-for person who has failed to comply.
