Regulations

Section 143 provides for the payment of jobseeker's allowance on a daily basis where regulations so permit.

  • Regulations may authorise payment of jobseeker's allowance for individual days of unemployment
  • Daily payment offers flexibility where a full week's unemployment has not occurred
  • The daily rate is calculated as one-sixth of the applicable weekly rate
  • The weekly rate used depends on the claimant's personal circumstances
