Employer's obligation in relation to attachment of earnings order

Section 348, which previously set out the obligations on employers when served with an attachment of earnings order for recovery of overpaid social welfare, has been repealed.

• Section 348 dealt with the duties imposed on employers who received an attachment of earnings order relating to social welfare overpayments.
• The section was repealed by section 7 of the Social Welfare and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2024.
• As a repealed provision, it no longer has any legal effect and employers are no longer subject to the obligations it previously contained.
• Any attachment of earnings processes related to social welfare overpayments should now be considered in light of the current legislation as amended.
