Rate of benefit

Section 55 establishes how the weekly rate of Health and Safety Benefit is determined.

  • Health and Safety Benefit is a weekly payment for employed women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • The benefit applies where the employee cannot continue working due to workplace health and safety risks and no suitable alternative work is available.
  • The current weekly personal rate is €254.00, as specified in Part 1 of Schedule 2.
  • Additional amounts may be payable for a qualified adult (€168.60) and qualified children (€58.00 per child at the full rate).
