Specified weekly payments

Schedule 5A lists the social welfare payments that qualify as "specified weekly payments" for the purposes of the weekly benefit payment rules under Chapter 15 of Part 2 of the Act.

• The Schedule defines which welfare payments count as specified weekly payments under the Act.
• The list covers both contributory benefits (such as jobseeker's benefit and illness benefit) and non-contributory payments (such as State pension non-contributory and carer's allowance).
• It also includes occupational injuries benefits, supplementary welfare allowance, daily expenses allowance for asylum seekers, and payments to qualified adults.
• The Minister has power to amend the list by regulations without requiring primary legislation.
