Dispute

Section 343G requires that where there is a dispute about an amount owed by the relevant person to the overpaid person, the disputed amount must be excluded when calculating the debt.

• Applies where there is a disagreement over how much the relevant person owes the overpaid person
• The disputed amount must be left out of the debt calculation
• The relevant person ignores the disputed amount when specifying the debt in their reply to the Minister
• The reply to the Minister is delivered under the separate provisions of section 343H
