Medical examination

Section 226 requires persons receiving full-time care to attend medical or other examinations when requested, and provides for disqualification from the carer's support grant if they fail to comply without good cause.

• The person being cared for (the "relevant person") must attend or submit to any medical or other examination required under regulations.
• These examinations relate to cases where a carer is receiving a carer's support grant for providing full-time care and attention.
• Regulations may provide for the carer to be disqualified from receiving the grant if the relevant person fails to comply with the examination requirement.
• Disqualification only applies where the relevant person fails to attend or submit without good cause.
