Offences

Section 356 previously dealt with offences under the Social Welfare Acts but has been repealed.

  • Section 356 originally set out the various offences that could be committed under the social welfare legislation.
  • The section was repealed by section 7 of the Social Welfare and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2024.
  • As a result, the provisions formerly contained in this section no longer have legal effect.
  • Any matters previously addressed by section 356 may now be governed by other provisions introduced or amended by the 2024 Act.
