Amount of grant

Section 136 establishes the amount of the Bereavement Grant.

  • The Bereavement Grant was a one-off payment made on the death of certain persons before 1 January 2014.
  • The amount of the grant was €850.
  • Payment is subject to the other provisions of the Social Welfare Consolidation Act 2005.
  • The grant amount is specified in Part 5 of Schedule 2 to the Act.
