Social Welfare Consolidation Act 2005 section 360

Repeals

Section 360 repeals the earlier social welfare enactments listed in Schedule 7, while preserving their application to any benefits or payments that arose before the 2005 Act came into force.

  • The enactments listed in Schedule 7 (column 2) are repealed to the extent specified in column 3 of that Schedule.
  • These repealed laws are referred to throughout Part 11 as "the repealed enactments."
  • Despite the repeals, the old enactments continue to apply to any benefit, assistance, child benefit, or working family payment that arose before the commencement of the 2005 Act.
  • This savings provision operates without prejudice to the general savings rules already contained in the Interpretation Act 1937.
