Occupational injuries benefits - gratuities and grants

Schedule 2 Part 2 sets out the maximum lump sum amounts payable under the Occupational Injuries Benefit scheme for disablement gratuities and death benefits.

• Disablement Benefit maximum gratuity is €19,940, payable as a lump sum for permanent but relatively minor workplace injuries
• Death Benefit lump sum is €850, payable following a death caused by an occupational injury or disease
• These are fixed maximum amounts that have been periodically updated through successive Social Welfare Acts
• The amounts represent one-off payments rather than ongoing weekly benefits
