Amount of domiciliary care allowance

Section 186F, read with Schedule 4 Part 5, sets out the monthly payment amount for domiciliary care allowance.

• Domiciliary care allowance is paid monthly to qualifying carers of children with disabilities.
• The current rate is €380.00 per month for each eligible child.
• The payment is made on a per-child basis, so families caring for multiple qualifying children receive the allowance for each child separately.
• This rate has been increased several times through amending legislation since the allowance was first introduced in 2008.
