One-parent family payments β€” miscellaneous provisions relating to claims made on certain dates

Section 178E provides transitional protection for pending one-parent family payment claims that were affected by changes to child age eligibility limits.

  • Claims submitted before 27 April 2011 are protected where the youngest child had reached age 14 before that date.
  • Claims submitted before 3 May 2012 are protected where the youngest child had reached age 12 before that date.
  • Protection only applies to claims that had not been fully determined by the relevant cut-off date.
  • Eligible claims are assessed under sections 178B and 178C respectively.
