Qualified person

Section 186D sets out who qualifies to receive domiciliary care allowance on behalf of a child with a disability.

  • The child must normally live with the person claiming the allowance.
  • The person must be responsible for providing the child's care.
  • The person must be habitually resident in Ireland or meet specific residency criteria at the time of application.
  • The Minister may make regulations to determine with whom a child is regarded as normally residing.
