Attachment of earnings order

Section 347 previously dealt with the attachment of earnings orders for the recovery of social welfare overpayments but has been repealed.

  • Section 347 originally provided a mechanism for recovering social welfare overpayments directly from a debtor's earnings
  • The section was repealed by the Social Welfare and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2024, section 7
  • The provisions of this section no longer have legal effect
  • Any matters previously governed by this section may now fall under alternative recovery provisions
