Commencement

Section 364 sets out when the Social Welfare Consolidation Act 2005 comes into operation, giving the Minister power to appoint commencement dates by order.

• The Act comes into operation on a date appointed by the Minister by order.
• Schedule 6 provisions commence on different dates — some appointed by Ministerial order, others fixed by statute.
• The Minister may set different commencement dates for different purposes and provisions within Schedule 6.
• Paragraph 3 of Schedule 6 came into operation on 6 April 2012.
