Supplements to workmen's compensation payments

Section 85 extends occupational injury benefits to people who receive or received compensation under the older Workmen's Compensation Acts.

  • Recipients of Workmen's Compensation payments (from 1 October 1965 onwards) who are permanently incapable of work may claim incapacity supplement and increases for dependants
  • Those requiring constant attendance may claim the constant attendance increase as if assessed at 100% disablement
  • Standard rules for benefit claims and decisions may be applied to these payments, with any necessary modifications
  • All payments under this section are funded from the Social Insurance Fund
