Increases for qualified adult and qualified children

Section 68G sets out the additional amounts payable to self-employed jobseekers who have dependent adults or children.

  • A weekly increase of €168.60 is payable for one qualified adult (or €109.20 for claimants in the section 68F category).
  • An increase of €58.00 per week is payable for each qualifying child under 12 who normally resides with the claimant.
  • An increase of €78.00 per week is payable for each qualifying child aged 12 or over who normally resides with the claimant.
  • Child increases are halved where the claimant's partner is not a qualified adult, and are eliminated entirely where the partner's income exceeds a prescribed threshold.
