One-parent family payment β€” continuation following certain disqualifications

Section 178D allowed recipients of one-parent family payment who were disqualified due to earnings or education participation to automatically requalify once the disqualification ended.

  • Applied to claimants who had received one-parent family payment for at least 52 consecutive weeks before disqualification.
  • Disqualification triggers were: gross weekly earnings exceeding the prescribed limit, or participation in the Back to Education Allowance scheme.
  • Different requalification rules applied depending on whether entitlement first arose before 27 April 2011 or between 27 April 2011 and 2 May 2012.
  • This transitional provision ceased to have effect on 2 July 2015.
