Application of Chapter 6A - PUP

Section 38C defines who qualifies under the Covid-19 social insurance contribution attribution rules.

  • Covers recipients of the pandemic unemployment payment and the Covid-19 pandemic unemployment payment from 13 March 2020 onwards.
  • Includes those receiving standard jobseeker's benefit or allowance who would otherwise have qualified for pandemic payments.
  • Applies to employees whose employers received the temporary wage subsidy or the Covid-19 employer refund scheme.
  • The Minister may extend coverage to additional categories of person by regulation.
