Social Welfare Consolidation Act 2005 section 62C

Giving of notice under section 62A or 62B

Section 62C sets out the rules for how notices must be delivered to jobseekers who fail to attend activation meetings or participate in prescribed employment schemes.

  • Notices relating to failures to attend activation meetings or participate in employment programmes must be given in writing.
  • In addition to written form, notices may be given in any other form considered appropriate by the Department.
  • Electronic form is specifically permitted as an alternative delivery method.
  • This flexibility allows the Department to communicate with claimants through modern channels while maintaining a formal written record.
