Rates of periodical benefits and increases

Schedule 2 Part 1 sets out the weekly payment rates for various social welfare benefits, including increases for dependants, age, and location circumstances.

  • Short-term benefits (Illness Benefit, Jobseeker's Benefit, Injury Benefit, Health and Safety Benefit) are payable at €254.00 weekly, with €168.60 for a qualified adult and €58.00/€78.00 for children under/over 12 years.
  • State Pension (Contributory) uses age-referenced rates starting at €299.30 for age 66, rising to €363.90 at age 70, with corresponding increases for qualified adults who have reached pensionable age.
  • Bereaved partner's pension and Invalidity Pension are both payable at €259.50 weekly, with additional increases available for those who have reached pensionable age.
  • Standard additional payments apply across most benefits: €22.00 for living alone, €10.00 for those aged 80 or over, and €20.00 for island residents.
