Social Welfare Consolidation Act 2005 Schedule 7

Enactments repealed

Schedule 7 lists the earlier Social Welfare Acts that were repealed (wholly or partly) when the Social Welfare Consolidation Act 2005 came into force, consolidating all prior legislation into a single statute.

• The 2005 Act replaced over 20 separate Social Welfare Acts enacted between 1993 and 2005, repealing them in whole or in part.
• The core Act repealed in its entirety was the Social Welfare (Consolidation) Act 1993 (No. 27 of 1993), which had itself been the previous consolidating statute.
• Most subsequent amending Acts were repealed in full, except for certain surviving provisions — typically their own interpretation sections, definition sections, and stand-alone Parts dealing with matters such as pensions, occupational injuries, or transitional arrangements.
• The effect of Schedule 7 is that practitioners should no longer refer to the repealed Acts for current social welfare law; all operative provisions are now found within the 2005 Consolidation Act itself.
