Death benefit - parents

Section 82 previously provided for death benefit payable to the parents of a deceased person but has been repealed.

• Section 82 originally dealt with death benefit payments to parents of a deceased worker who died as a result of an occupational injury or disease.
• The section was repealed by the Social Welfare and Pensions Act 2011, section 5.
• No new claims can be made under this provision following its repeal.
• Any entitlements that existed under this section are no longer available under current legislation.
