Transitional arrangements

Section 343X sets out the transitional arrangements for statements of recoverable benefits that were issued before the commencement of the 2015 amending legislation.

  • Statements of recoverable benefits issued before section 12 of the Social Welfare (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2015 came into operation remain valid
  • Validity lasts for the period originally specified in the statement
  • Validity ends earlier if a decision or revised decision is made to award or vary a specified benefit payable to the injured person
  • Whichever of these two events occurs first brings the statement's validity to an end
