Rate of benefit

Section 65 sets out the weekly rate of jobseeker's benefit and specifies when a reduced rate applies.

  • The standard weekly rate of jobseeker's benefit is €254.00.
  • Certain claimants receive a reduced rate, which is €90 less per week (€164.00).
  • The reduced rate applies to individuals who do not attend activation meetings or prescribed courses or programmes.
  • Both the standard and reduced rates may be adjusted by other provisions.
