Adjustments for successive accidents

Section 79 deals with how occupational injury benefits may be adjusted when a person suffers successive accidents.

  • Applies where someone has two or more consecutive accidents covered by occupational injuries insurance.
  • Regulations may adjust injury benefit, disablement benefit, or their qualifying conditions where the person has received or may receive a disablement gratuity.
  • Regulations may also adjust any increases in benefit rates, or the conditions for receiving such increases.
  • The term "increase of benefit" refers specifically to rate increases for injury benefit or disablement pension under sections 76, 77, and 78.
